Named in honor of the fighting spirit that forged our great nation, meet Black Powder Tavern. The building was constructed in 1746. George Washington has even had an ale or two had this establishment! Today they aim to honor the tavern's rich history by creating an amazing experience for all guests. Legend has it, the tavern is haunted!

All of us at Black Powder Tavern believe that any event you plan with us should be memorable and special. We can bring it to life by being your silent coordination partner. You can choose from several available options to accommodate sit down functions for up to 50 guests and cocktail parties for up to 70 people. I invite you to reach out if you’re planning anything from a casual happy hour to an important business luncheon, from a holiday party to a rehearsal dinner or bridal shower. Black Powder Tavern has been the backdrop for so many celebrations and business gatherings. Black Powder Tavern is named in honor of the fighting spirit that forged our great nation. Since 1746, the building that houses this tavern has played a part in the establishment of our nation. Celebrate your special event with up to 50 seated guests in our Anthony Wayne Room (downstairs, private or semi-private)or in our upstairs, private George Washington Quarters that accommodates up to 36 seated guests. Food and beverage spending minimums depend on the day the event is held and range from $100-$2100 For a minimum of 20 guests we offer Buffets ranging from $10-$40. Our Sunday Brunch Buffet for 30+ guests is $$15-$25 per person

An amazing Interesting menu & kindly attentive staff makes this a true go-to for comfort food! The Brussels sprouts appetizer is enough to keep me returning again... & again... & again. I can't believe I'd overlooked it in the 45 years I've lived in the area! A huge mistake I hope you don't make 😉

This place has a great rotating craft beer list. Both the happy hour and regular menu provide a ton of good options.although we usually just stick with multiple orders of the poutine and cheesy devils on horseback.

Very good food. Nice atmosphere, sit on the non bar side if you want a quieter experience. Themed ambience and appropriate decor. Extremely clean. Service was a bit slow but friendly.

My colleague and I were looking for a slightly upscale dinner in a relaxing environment and the Tavern delivered! We enjoyed the broad range of menu options and attentive service. Our french onion soup, stuffed dates, chicken pot pie and hamburger were all excellent quality and portion sizes.
