Cork is impermeable; watertight; solid; and a perfect synonym for the long tradition Urban Place exemplifies in Lancaster. Yet one thing still flows easily through it, and in great quantity: History. Once home to Lancaster Cork Works, a 19th century cork factory, the buildings of Urban Place have been deliberately transfigured into a modish 300,000 square foot community primed for staying, gathering, dining, working, shopping, and living.

Cork is also elastic, boasting diverse and valuable uses. So, too, is Urban Place, creatively reused to offer luxury apartments; modern retail and commercial outlets; restaurants; event spaces; and Cork Factory Hotel.

Really cool place with lots of history. Rooms are a nice size. Only downside is that rooms are not well insulated so you can hear the conversations next door and above you.

Absolutely wonderful place. Great staff and service. Prime rib night in Wednesday and it is awesome with truffle mashed potatoes. Had a lovely room with a huge jetted tub.

Not the best venue for large families yet offers a unique stay. We wanted to check out this hotel, we are locals in the area. Our party of 5 booked our stay online. We showed up and were presented a single room with two double beds. The staff switched our room to a two queen bed room after we brought this to their attention that there was not enough sleeping space for all of us. Average to below average in courteous staff, average cleanliness. Rooms are lacking in features, such as no microwave, small TV, smaller bathroom, no pool nor free coffee and terrible parking ( cramped and full lot). It appeared to us that this hotel placed the majority of their efforts into hosting weddings and less focus on their transient hotel guests. The highlight of our stay was the wonderful breakfast (free) in the morning which had fresh fruit and great coffee. Its worth a stay to check out the architecture of this old cork factory but we will probably not be returning.

Beautiful!!! Room was EXTREMELY spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. Bathroom had a large soaking tub. Ballroom for the wedding was beautiful as well. Food was great. Cocktails were very good. Great location with fun things to do in the area.

Special thanks to the staff at the Cork Factor Hotel. I left my eye glasses in my room and realized it when I got home. When I called the hotel, they said they would be happy to send them to me. The glasses were excellently packed and came by FedEx. I was relieved I didn't have to replace my expensive glasses. Loved the caring people we met in Lancaster.
