A gem. Par 68 and 5403 yards. Sound easy? No. It is a shotmakers course. A Flynn design from 1901. A very walkable course. Some narrow fairways and small greens. A membership course is as good as the members. Here is another strength of the Bala. Nice people. Strong professional staff, especially Chris Barletta, the head pro. There is a driving range but not for woods. The Greens Department is solid with long term employees. There is a full locker room for men and women. The men’s showers are so good they would be illegal today — too much water. The restaurant is traditional and has the best food for miles around. But full service only a few days a week. The grill room is fine too. I’ve hosted several events at the Bala and everyone raves about the beautiful setting, food and service. Despite the quick access from Center City, course quality, friendly people and no initiation fee, the course is not too crowded.

Started out damp but a quick round at just under 4 hours. Course was in really good shape considering all the rain this summer. The "Bala Burger" afterward was good too!

Played yesterday 5/16/19 as guest with three others, won foursome play at a Charity Auction. Didn't know what to expect, But we were treated GREAT and had an Awesome day on a Beautiful Golf Course. Thank You

Haven't played golf there, but I had the food. Very good. It's also a nice place for an offsite business event.
