About

The Spring Mill Café has been serving French country fare since 1978.  We're a BYO that serves lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. The historic property features the original Spring Mill general store, and the picturesque converted farmhouse.  When the weather is nice, guests are invited to dine outdoors adjacent the gardens, either on the patio or on one of the porches.

A complete selection of appetizers, soups, salads, entrées, cheeses and desserts have been enchanting customers for decades. Michele Haines established the cafe wanting to share the dishes her mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed down.  Specialties include hearty patés, traditional boeuf bourguignon, rabbit stew, cassoulet and fresh farm vegetables.  Desserts include classics like chocolate mousse and tarte tatin.  The Spring Mill Café’s relaxed and casual atmosphere invites you to enjoy the company and the food.

Went for brunch. Making a reservation, one guy kept arguing with the guy on the phone with us. Two orders were the same: Eggs benedict. They got both orders wrong. No apology from the seasoned waitress. Took far too long to correct it. Served others the exact order ahead of us. Served the corrected order with overcooked poached eggs - seriously terrible. Hollandaise sauce had no taste and very little of it. Smoked salmon was far too salty. The omelette was not special and quite barren with just tasteless potatoes that were too chewy as though microwaved. Had to ask for hot water for the tea several times and several times had to remind them. Rolls were warm but hard. Coffee was consistently lukewarm. We asked for a refreshed cup. Still lukewarm. New waitress was pretty good for being new. Experienced one had an attitude; the wrong one. It was loud and crowded - could not hear each other even though we leaned in to a foot away. Nothing particularly French about it. So sorry I left a tip as I think about it. They should have removed the eggs benedict we didn't eat from the bill but did not. Parking was challenging. We saw another having trouble in a wheelchair - too difficult to maneuver on the little rocks in the parking lot and the two-door entry is too short.

Very nice place for dinner. Great house and ambiance. The food is solid. The appetizers were much better than main course but overall it was a great experience. It is also a BYOB which is a plus as well. Service was great.

Best Bridal Shower ever!! Thank you Spring Mill cafe for making my daughters day absolutely perfect! The food, the staff and the atmosphere made it a very special day for all of us Thank you again

We just hosted a bridal shower here and the event was wonderful. The menu selections were a big hit and the food was great. Service was top rate ,and it was a charming place to be on a beautiful summer Sunday afternoon!

Perfect spot for a romantic dinner. We absolutely loved everything we ordered and our waiter was friendly and helpful. I order the smoke trout salad for an app and was blown away by how delicious it was. My salmon entree was was also exceptional and the dessert of chocolate mousse is something I dream about to this day. My partner ordered the cheese board that was a bit small on portions but full of flavor. He also got the Rabbit Entree and fully enjoyed it. Overall an amazing experience.
