The Foundry is steeped in history, tell us more about its founding.
Built in 1882, The Foundry of Phoenix Iron & Steel Company poured iron castings well into the 1970’s. Abandoned after the decline of the steel industry, it was marked as the centerpiece of Phoenixville’s economic regeneration. In 2006, Hankin Group acquired the Phoenixville Foundry property. Hankin provided a visionary plan for the creation of a flexible event space that melds the industrial character of the building with modern elements. Today, Phoenixville Foundry offers 18,000 square feet of event space with all of the modern amenities and rich tradition befitting the town’s illustrious past and future.

What aspects of The Foundry are from the original construction?
We have retained the industrial and dramatic character of the building. Inside, clerestory windows remain dividing the double-tiered roof structure allowing light to pour into the column free open space. There is a very large wooden cantilever crane still in its original location and thought to be the last and largest of its kind in the entire United States.
