Lolita is a Modern Mexican Restaurant located in Philadelphia in Midtown Village. Originally opened in 2004 by restaurateurs Chef Marcie Turney and Valerie Safran, it underwent a major renovation in 2014 and reopened with a fresh look, a new Mexican street food-inspired menu and a full liquor license. The extensive full-scale renovation highlights the addition of a 16-seat bar and chef's counter looking into the open kitchen. Lolita seats 45 guests with additional outdoor sidewalk seating in the warmer months. Reservations are accepted every day for lunch and dinner, while seating at the bar and chef’s counter is on a first come, first served basis. They have a full liquor license and accept all major credit cards.

Street food-inspired modern Mexican fare. Lolita’s main dining room can only accommodate parties up to 5 guests so restaurant is only available to buy out the entire restaurant for private event up to 40 guests for a seated function and up to 60 for a standing reception. The food and beverage minimum is $7,800-$8,100 to host a private event at Lolita. For larger events,there is private event space located on the 2nd floor of sister restaurant, Barbuzzo (110 S. 13th St) which accommodates up to 55 for a seated event or 85 for a reception. The space has its own kitchen and bar area and is completely private. Parties booked at either space serves private dining menus incorporating items from all 5 restaurant concepts which are use them for all group dining.

Food was amazing! Cocktails were great too. We went during restaurant week. Our server was very nice and had a great flow. We weren’t without food or water for more than a few minutes. Wish I remember her name so I could mention her.

Fantastic food, great menu, and friendly service! I've been wanting to stop in here for years, since I love the owner's other restaurants, and I wasn't disappointed. The atmosphere is really nice, and the food was top notch! Very original, while honoring traditional Mexican. If choosing between this Mexican restaurant, and the much larger gaudy one down the street, I wouldn't have to think twice about that decision. Lolita all the way!

Fabulous gluten free Mexican restaurant! Loved the cocktails, and the enchiladas were fantastic! So definitely be back. Much better than the giant eyesore down the road.

Sexy vibe and decor. The crispy fish tacos were as delicious as the sweet waitress said they would be. Nice little spicy kick and great flavor

Lolita, as always, was a real treat. The food tastes authentic but also offers a modern point of view on classic Mexican dishes. The service here is impeccable and you won't ever wait too long for your food to arrive. The restaurant is perfectly decorated and doesn't showcase the Mexican culture in a clichéd way. I also love that Lolita clearly points out vegan and vegetarian options on their menu. I'm giving Lolita four stars instead of five for two reasons: 1) space is a little tight. On more than one occasion, people bumped into our table, nearly knocking our pitcher of margaritas over and 2) there was only one vegan option on the dessert menu. As Philadelphia becomes more vegan-friendly, it is typical for restaurants to offer vegans a sorbet for dinner. I know the chef at Lolita is more than capable of offering a vegan dessert that can set itself from the pack. Last but not least, Lolita accepts both cash and credit.
